Not sure which desert route suits you? The Merzouga dunes (Erg Chebbi) are the tallest and most dramatic but sit a full day's drive from Marrakech, so they're best on a 3-day or longer trip. The Zagora dunes are closer and ideal if you're short on time, while the Agafay stone desert near Marrakech makes a perfect overnight escape.
