The Ouzoud Waterfalls are the tallest waterfalls in North Africa, plunging 110 metres in three cascades through a dramatic red-rock canyon in the foothills of the Middle Atlas. Located approximately 160 km northeast of Marrakech, they're one of the most spectacular natural sites in Morocco.
The route from Marrakech follows the N8 east through olive groves and small Berber market towns, with the landscape gradually rising into the foothills of the Atlas. The drive takes roughly 2h 20–40 minutes depending on your exact pickup point and traffic through the market towns along the way.
This is a transport-only transfer: we drive you to the Ouzoud viewpoint and parking area. Hiking down to the base of the falls, boat rides, swimming, and meals are arranged independently at the site.
Not included: Guide, boat ride, meals, entrance area fees, return trip (book separately).
What to bring: Sturdy shoes (the trail to the base is steep and can be slippery), sunscreen, and a change of clothes if you plan to swim. Bring cash for local restaurants and boat rides.
Monkeys: Barbary macaques live around the falls and are a highlight for many visitors. They're bold — keep food hidden and don't leave bags unattended.
Viewing platforms and hike: From the parking area there are several viewpoints looking down at the falls. A trail leads down into the canyon to the natural swimming pools at the base, a 20–30 minute walk. Local guides offer to show you the way for a small tip — you can also go independently.
Departure time: Depart Marrakech by 8:00–8:30 AM to arrive before the midday crowd. Plan 3–4 hours at the falls including the hike and lunch, then book your return transfer for afternoon.
